As a longtime fan of Cafe Roma’s authentic Roman-style cuisine and its warm St. Clair West setting, I felt the brand was ripe for a refresh. I envisioned a design that would take the restaurant’s rich tradition and recast it in a modern, vibrant identity, one that matches the excellence of their food while appealing to today’s diners.

Drawing on elements of Roman food culture - classic pasta, rustic pizza, and welcoming trattoria vibes, I created a visual system rooted in nostalgia but energized with contemporary touches. Warm, heritage-inspired hues are paired with bold, clean typography and playful photography and illustration. The result: a brand that communicates “Old-world meets now,” emphasizing that this is a place where tradition is alive and evolving.

From menu covers to signage and digital presence, the new look elevates Cafe Roma’s brand presence without losing its approachable charm. It celebrates the restaurant’s story while giving it a fresh, unified identity ready to stand out in the Toronto dining scene.
